Sarah's bday song =)

we write this for you (we thank God for you)
it's no secret what we wish to say
but we hide it from view
among childish strains of laughter

we escape the gravity of age
and circle around for a better view

Chorus:
gather up some stars sprinkled from your eyes
bathrooms and bedrooms; and paper bags over our heads
gather up some stars sprinkled from your eyes
small paus and giggles, rara and details
bathrooms and bedrooms; and paper bags over our heads

we write this for you
it's no secret what we wish to say
now off to your new journeys
don't forget who you are

5 Loaves and 2 fishes

I just heard this song from Corrinne May's latest album, and this song ministered to me. Read the lyrics below!! =) This is my prayer to God, that He will use my 5 loaves and 2 fishes for His glory.

A little boy of 13 was on his way to school
He heard a crowd of people laughing and he went to take a look
Thousands were listening
to the stories of one man
He spoke with such wisdom
even the kids could understand

The hours passed so quickly
the day turned into night
Everyone was hungry but there was no food in sight
The boy looked in his lunchbox at the little that he had
He wasn't sure what good it'd do
There were thousands to be fed

But he saw the twinkling eyes of Jesus
the kindness in His smile
and the boy cried out with the trust of a child
he said:
"Take my five loaves and two fishes.
Do with it as you will
I surrender
Take my fears and my inhibitions
All my burdens, my ambitions
You can use it all to feed them all."

I often think about that boy when I'm feeling small
and I worry that the work I do means nothing at all

But every single tear I cry is a diamond in His hands
and every door that slams in my face
I will offer up in prayer

So I'll give you every breath that I have
Oh Lord, you can work miracles
All you need is my 'Amen'

"Take my five loaves and two fishes.
Do with it as you will
I surrender
Take my fears and my inhibitions
All my burdens, my ambitions
You can use it all to feed them all."

I trust in you I trust in you
You can use it all
No gift is too small

From Max Lucado

You never know Jesus is All YOU Need until Jesus is All YOU Have!

God challenged me to surrender every area of my life back to Him. I have been more actively finding out about when I can leave for my short-term stint to Thailand.. Perhaps it would be in the year 2010! by then, I would be 26 and when I come back I would be 28 already! Oh man..getting old!

Taking risks for God

Our security must be in God in order to take risks for God. I want to dare to take risks for God, I want to have godly influence on people, I want to have the passion for the truth and be willing to go beyond my comfort zone!

Qualities required for a missionary:
1. Must be soul winners!
2. Prayerful
3.Accomodate to other workers in the team
4.Willing to submit to authorities
5. Having faith in God alone will give joy and rest.

Waiting on God

Yet the Lord longs to be gracious to you; He rises to show you compassion. For the Lord is a God of justice. Blessed are all who wait for Him! - Isaiah 30:18
(From TGIF)
Have you ever noticed that God is not in a hurry?
Bliblical Timeline:
It took 40 years for Moses to receive his commission to lead the people out of Egypt.
It took 17 years of preparation before Joseph was delivered from slavery and imprisonment.
Abraham and Sarah were in their old age when they finally received the son of promise, Isaac.

So why isn't God in a hurry?God called each of these servants to accomplish a certain task in His Kingdom, yet He was in no hurry to bring their mission into fulfillment.

We are often more focused on outcome than the process that He is accomplishing in our lives each day. When we experience His presence daily, one day we wake up and realize that God has done something special in and through our lives. However, the accomplishment is no longer what excites us. Instead, what excites us is knowing Him. Through those times, we become more acquainted with His love, grace, and power in our lives. When this happens, we are no longer focused on the outcome because the outcome is a result of our walk with Him. It is not the goal of our walk, but the by-product.

We need to come to a place of complete surrender so that we are not anxious about tomorrow or our circumstances. This is the lesson for us. We must wait for God's timing and embrace wherever we are in the process. When we find contentment in that place, we begin to experience God in ways we never thought possible.

Jesus, I wait patiently on You. Help me to know YOU better in the process!

Hannah's Prayer

1 Sam 1-2

Everyone has unfulfilled longings. I have too..In the Bible, Hannah felt the pain of postponement as she was not able to have a child for the longest time. Hannah had to let go of what she longed for that had not been fulfilled. What did she do? She took her feelings to God and surrendered.

LET GO..LET GO AGAIN AND LET GOD!

We have to adopt a posture of prayer, of humbleness to TRUST GOD TO BE GOD and Trust HIM to take control. Isa 30:15 'In quietness and trust is your strength'

On Sunday, after this sermon by Pastor Shern, I decided. I decided to surrender my unfulfilled longings to the Lord and submit to His will. Now I know that God shifts our motives till it is God and no one else. If I have not grown my knowledge of God in the process of surrendering to God, I have not surrendered at all.
